Daniel Popa, the former striker of FCSB in the period 2024-2025, is currently free of contract and trains with Chindia Târgoviște, the team from his hometown.
For the Romanian champion, Popa played 30 official matches, scoring two goals and providing four decisive assists.
The 29-year-old recently parted ways with Turkish club Genclerbirligi at the start of September after a season in which he made 16 appearances, scoring in 8 of them.

Daniel Popa is currently training with Chindia Târgoviște, a team for which he has already played twice (2020–2022 and 2022–2023).
In the shirt of the Târgoviste players, the striker scored 40 goals and 11 assists in 132 games, becoming one of the most important players in the club's history.
According to db-sport.ro, Popa assisted from the official stand at the friendly match won by Chindia, score 3-1 with Metaloglobus, a sign that a possible comeback is being considered.

After 10 stages in League 2, Chindia Târgoviște is in 3rd place, with 20 points, and has a clear goal of promotion to the Romanian Superleague.
