Three people died and 15 others were injured in the explosion that took place on Friday in a Bucharest block in the Rahova neighborhood. Among the wounded hospitalized in the capital's hospitals, two underwent surgery and several suffered severe burns, according to the Ministry of Health and representatives of the Floreasca Emergency Hospital.

Three of the 15 people injured in the explosion are admitted to the Floreasca Emergency Hospital, and two of them underwent surgery.

“The patients are stable. The two who were operated on are recovering after the surgery,” the representatives of the health unit said. They stated that, probably, next week the patients will be discharged.

Previously, the Ministry of Health announced, on Friday afternoon, that the following are hospitalized at the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital:

  • A 68-year-old man – operated on urgently and subjected to additional imaging investigations and under specialist monitoring;
  • A 58-year-old woman – fractures in the pelvis and lumbar spine; requiring surgical intervention;
  • An 86-year-old man – no post-traumatic injuries; admitted to the surgery department for monitoring.

At the “Grigore Alexandrescu” Children's Emergency Clinic hospital, two patients are hospitalized, the quoted source also stated.

  • Pediatric patient – ​​craniocerebral trauma and sutured wounds, clavicle fracture; hospitalized in the neurosurgery department, under medical-surgical supervision.
  • Pediatric patient – ​​intubated and mechanically ventilated; is in the operating room of the neurosurgery department.

Six patients are at the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital. A 53-year-old patient – with severe burns, hemodynamically stable, intubated. In his case, an official request was made for transfer to a specialized medical unit abroad. Four other patients at this hospital were medically evaluated without requiring admission.

Two patients arrived at the “Bagdasar-Arseni” Emergency Clinic hospital:

  • A female patient, 78 years old – burns on a body surface below 15%; currently does not require transfer abroad, the condition being stable and balanced.
  • A patient, 58 years old – evaluated in the Emergency Department, refused admission for monitoring.

The Ministry of Health specified that medical information, as well as operational information, given the nature of an emergency situation, can change at any time, as new clinical data appears.
