Many children's snacks at the store are sugar in pretty packaging. Even “natural” bars often hide molasses, syrups and fruit juice concentrates. But it’s better not to give this to children, but to prepare a healthy snack at home. The bars turn out sweet, satisfying and cook very quickly.
What you will need:
Dried dates without pits – 100 g
Ripe banana – 1 pc.
Oatmeal – 3 tbsp. spoons
Ground nuts (walnuts, almonds) – 2 tbsp. spoons
Pumpkin or sunflower seeds – 1 tbsp. spoon
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
How to cook:
- Soak the dates in warm water for 5 minutes, then drain.
- In a blender, puree the dates, banana, oats, nuts and seeds until sticky but not runny.
- Form into small balls or pour the mixture into a mold and cut into bars.
- If desired, roll them in coconut, cocoa or ground nuts.
- Place in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes and you can give it to your child.
Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can freeze it and then it will last for a week.
Bon appetit!
Question and answer:
How to replace cookies and candy bars for children?
Homemade snacks based on banana, dates, oatmeal and nuts.
Why are homemade snacks better than store-bought ones?
Because you choose the ingredients yourself. They contain no hidden sugars, syrups, palm oil or “natural-identical flavorings.”
