In September 2024, former Member of the European Parliament Ryszard Czarnecki and his wife were charged with paid protection and demands for financial benefits in the Collegium Humanum case.

In November 2024, the mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, was charged. The prosecutor's office brought a total of four charges against him, including one of providing a financial benefit to the former rector of the Collegium Humanum university in exchange for a diploma of completion of Executive Master of Business postgraduate studies without actually completing them.

In a Friday interview on TVN 24, Korneluk announced that he had talked to the prosecutor from the Silesian Branch of the National Prosecutor's Office who was handling the Collegium Humanum case. – There is a phase of finalizing the proceedings. An indictment is currently being prepared against 29 people. The prosecutor familiarized the suspects with the material of the proceedings, there are applications for evidence, they are being examined and after this procedure (…) an indictment will be filed – he added.

Korneluk was asked whether the indictment would cover, among others, MEPs or local government officials who heard allegations in the case. – You probably mean former MEP Ryszard Czarnecki. This indictment will probably cover him and his wife, as well as a number of other people whom we informed that we were charging them with, said the national prosecutor. When asked whether the president of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, would also be covered, he replied: “I didn't count, but I think so – he will also be covered by this indictment.”

As he recalled, there are 70 suspects and nearly 400 charges in the investigation into irregularities at Collegium Humanum. He emphasized that the suspects were from “different political backgrounds”. – Today's prosecutor's office does not care about political colors – added Korneluk.

The private university Collegium Humanum offered fast MBA courses and other programs facilitating the acquisition of diplomas often used for promotion in the structures of State Treasury companies. Some of these diplomas were issued without an appropriate educational process, and their credibility was to be ensured by cooperating foreign universities, which in fact had no authority to do so. The CBA has so far detained several dozen people related to irregularities at Collegium Humanum. (PAP)
