The central electoral commission (CEC) in the Republic of Moldova annulled on Friday evening the registration of the “Moldova Mare” party, led by Victoria Furtuna, and its candidates for the position of deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in the parliamentary elections on September 28. The decision intervenes two days before the poll and after the same institution had announced a few hours before that he removed another pro-Russian party, the “heart of Moldova”, which is part of the patriotic block, the favorite among the opposition.

The decision of the electoral commission was taken as a result of the examination of the notifications submitted by the European Democratic Party, the Orhei Police Inspectorate, the National Investigation Inspectorate, the Police Directorate of the Autonomous Territorial Unity, the Bălţi Police Inspectorate, the National Anticorruption Center, as well CEC in a statement sent on Friday night and quoted by News.ro.

The reasons invoked are related to the use of financial funds and materials not declared by the electoral competitor in the reports on financial management, the use of financial means abroad, offering money, goods, services or granting benefits in order to determine the voter to exercise their electoral rights. Also, the “Moldova Mare” Party is suspected of participation in an electoral block meant to provide a “camouflage” to the representatives of political parties whose activity was limited as a result of their recognition as successors of a political party declared unconstitutional.

The Ukrainian publication Evropiska Pravda wrote the previous days that the “Moldova Mare” party, which has a territorial claims towards Ukraine, wanted to enter the Parliament with the promise to annex part of the Odessa region. His ideology is Moldovan nationalism. It is a non -existent party in real political life. It was created and is led by Victoria Furtuna, former prosecutor, considered the man of the Moldovan iligar ilan Şor, the one who now lives in Moscow and who works for Kremlin, coordinating Russian activities in Moldova.
