In Russia it is forbidden to catch roach to save it
Due to a sharp decline in the roach population, the Ministry of Agriculture banned its fishing in the Caspian Sea and the Volga for the entire year 2025.
Experts estimate that over the past 20 years, stocks of this fish have more than halved. At the same time, catches during the same period fell six times, and since the beginning of observations – 130 times.
