Andrzej Domański is courting American business


Minister Domański noted that Poland is perceived as an example of a country that has recorded spectacular economic development over the last 35 years. “It commands universal respect,” he said. He added that maintaining the competitiveness of the Polish economy in the coming years remains a key challenge.
The minister informed that despite the ongoing shutdown in the USA, he held talks with the American Minister of Energy, Chris Wright. Discussions concerned the development of nuclear energy in Poland, including the construction of the first nuclear power plant in cooperation with American partners, as well as the future of small modular reactors (SMRs).

The talks also covered the topic of importing American gas. Poland, already a large importer of this raw material, sees potential to further increase purchases. “Poland can become a gas hub for Central and Eastern Europe” – noted Andrzej Domański.
During the visit Minister Domański met with John Jovanovic, head of the American Exim Bankto discuss financing possibilities for Polish infrastructure projects.
On the other hand meetings with representatives of American business, including the arms and financial sectorswere aimed at promoting Poland as an attractive investment destination.
Poland will overtake Japan
One of the most impressive indicators of Polish development is the forecast that this year Poland's GDP per capita, adjusted for purchasing power parity, will exceed the value achieved by Japan. “What was once a dream is now becoming a reality,” the minister emphasized.

Minister Domański confirmed that Poland is actively pursuing membership in the G20. He recalled that our country was invited by President Donald Trump to the leaders' summit in Miami and is working on participation in other international formats.
During the meetings in Washington, issues related to Chinese restrictions on the export of rare earth metals and European regulations were also discussed. The minister drew attention to the complaints of foreign investors regarding the overregulation of the European market. “We must make an effort to simplify regulations to increase Europe's investment attractiveness“- he appealed.
