Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Wednesday evening that he expects to meet soon with US President Donald Trump to discuss an economic agreement between the two countries, writes Reuters.
“There is a date, and the agenda for the negotiations is about 80% ready. When we reach an agreement with the Americans on the remaining 20%, we will decide together with them when to announce the meeting, and then it will take place,” Viktor Orban said in an interview with the Mandiner news site.
Trump even recently showed his appreciation for the Hungarian leader at the Gaza peace summit held in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.
And Viktor Orban was proud of it.
In a video posted by the Hungarian prime minister on his Facebook page, Trump can be heard saying: “We have Hungary. Oh, Viktor!… We love Viktor. You're fantastic. I know a lot of people don't agree with me, but I'm the only one who matters.”
Orban also attended the signing of the Middle East peace agreement in Egypt on Monday, at the invitation of Trump.
The US president added that he supported Orban in the last election, “and he won by 28 points”. “So next time you're going to do even better … We're with you one hundred percent,” Trump said.
On his Facebook post, Orban added the following comment: “Thank you, Mr. President! We continue on the path of peace!”
