George Copos (72 years old), the former owner of Rapid, will reopen the Tâmpa Cable Car and the Panoramic restaurant, touristic symbols of Brașov, after investing over 20 million euros in the modernization project.
The Tâmpa cable car and the Panoramic restaurant will be reopened starting on October 19, following recent investments. Of the 20 million euros, 12 were used for the reconstruction of the restaurant, and 8 for the modernization of the cable car.

The modernization process was carried out by ANA Teleferic, part of ANA Holding, whose president is George Copos.
“This investment is more than a modernization project, it is a legacy that we leave to Braşov for the next 50 years. We wanted to restore the brilliance of a symbol of the city and, at the same time, prepare it for the future, with respect for history and with a vision for the generations to come,” said George Copos, according to Ziarul Financiar.
The Paronamic restaurant was opened for the first time in 1975, and the Tâmpa cable car 5 years before. The modernization works of the restaurant cost approximately 12 million euros. It will have a capacity of 470 people. It also includes an event hall, VIP Lounge, terrace, bar and cafe.
Access to the restaurant is mainly via the Tâmpa cable car, which has a capacity of 25 people per ride and up to 6,000 people per day.
ANA Holding also includes ANA Tower and ANA Hotels with the hotels InterContinental Athénée Palace Bucharest, Crowne Plaza Bucharest, three hotels in Poiana Braşov: Sport, Bradul si Poiana, and Hotel Europa together with the ANA Health Spa in Eforie Nord.
George Copos was the patron of Rapid in the period 1992-2013, during which the club won 11 trophies.
