stable presence of US troops. Decisions regarding PURL are pending

In a conversation with Pete Hegseth, Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Poland and the United States maintain their allied obligations. “The stable presence of American soldiers in Poland is confirmed” – emphasized the minister.
According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, the presence of US troops gives Poland an advantage over countries that are still hesitant on this issue. “Why do they stay in Poland? Because Poland invests in armaments, has very good relations with the United States, is an important economic partner and we make huge purchases from our American allies. Poland also shows that spending on armaments and modernization of the armed forces is at the highest level,” added the deputy prime minister.
Poland suspends the decision on Ukraine
Kosiniak-Kamysz also informed that Poland has not yet registered its participation in the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program, aimed at purchasing American weapons for Ukraine. “There was no such notification today, but we are working on this program,” said the head of the Ministry of National Defense, noting that Poland is involved in other activities supporting Ukraine.
The minister emphasized the importance of Poland as a logistics and infrastructure hub for Ukraine. “This initiative is serious, but we will make decisions on participation in PURL in the near future,” he added. When asked whether Secretary Hegseth encouraged Poland to participate, Kosiniak-Kamysz replied that the invitation concerned all NATO countries.
