The most profitable months for vacation in 2026 will be July, April and Octoberand unprofitable – January and May. Alexander Yuzhalin, head of the SuperJob legal practice, told TASS about this.

“The most profitable month for using vacation will be July. April, September, October and December will be a little worse,” the expert explained. — The most unfavorable month will traditionally be January. A little better – May and February. If you choose to take vacation time during these months, you may lose money (in vacation pay) compared to wages. During these months it is profitable to work and receive wages for the time worked.”
According to experts, the remaining months of next year will be average in terms of profitability – during them you can go on vacation without much loss of money.
Alexander Yuzhalin explained that the fewer working days there are in a month, the more unprofitable it is for employees who receive a salary to take vacation this month. He also recalled that vacation is always paid according to the same rules – based on the average salary of the employee.
To determine the profitability of using vacation in a particular month, you need to compare your daily income in that month with the average daily wage. In the month where the cost of one working day is higher than the average daily earnings, it is more profitable to continue working, and where these indicators are approximately the same or the average daily earnings are higher, it is profitable to use vacation.
