In Krasnoyarsk, the reconstruction of Chernyshevsky Square is being completed ahead of schedule.
The mayor's office recalled that the improvement began in the spring and planned to work for two years, but it was completed in one season. Most of the work has already been completed: three of the four playgrounds have been installed in the park and most of the trees have been planted.
All that remains for the contractor to do is tidy up the lawns, complete the installation of the video surveillance system, and also install several MAFs: a slide, a swing, a carousel, a sandbox and a play complex. The facility is planned to be commissioned in the first half of November, and the work performed will be guaranteed for three years.
“We have been watching the progress of the improvement all summer and, of course, we are really looking forward to the complete completion of all the work – we want to have time to admire the new space before the start of winter. But it is already clear that the square has been completely renewed, even as if it has become larger – probably due to the fact that new sites have appeared,” shared Olga Kravtsova, a resident of the area.
Deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of Deputies Elena Yuzhakova noted that the square is popular with local residents.
“Large regional events take place here, including New Year celebrations. At any time of the year, representatives of the older generation enjoy Nordic walking in the park, mothers walk with their children, but now the kids will also have something to do in the new children’s towns,” noted Elena Yuzhakova.
An inclusive playground for children with special needs is being created in the renovated park. Outdoor exercise equipment has been installed for sports enthusiasts. Quiet rest areas with benches and trash cans have also been preserved. Also, at the request of residents, two warm toilets were installed in the park. And they decided to keep the recently equipped dog walking area in its current form.
“The main types of work have already been completed: paving stones have been laid, most of the trees have been planted, and a lighting system has been installed. The final touches remain, and the public space will be completely ready to welcome residents,” said Maxim Oreshnikov, head of the Central District Administration.
