The proceedings regarding the above-mentioned event are conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Krasnystaw. The case – as Onet explains – will be transferred to the National Prosecutor's Office to initiate the procedure to revoke his immunity.
“Witnesses and officers conducting the intervention were interviewed. The car and the scene of the incident were also secured. The case was transferred to the Internal Affairs Department of the National Prosecutor's Office,” said Przemysław Nowak, spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office, quoted by Onet.
Prosecutor Nowak emphasized that witnesses testified that it was the judge who was driving the car. Jakub Izaniec denies this, saying that he is unable to identify the driveror simply refused to provide his data. He also said that although the police were at the judge's property, he was not detained.
On Sunday evening, the judge published on the X website a statement by his defender, lawyer Michał Skwarzyński, who stated that: his client “was not driving the car, but was its passenger”.

On Monday in Luxembourg, Justice Minister Waldemar Żurek told journalists that if the information about judge Jakub Izaniec is confirmed, a request to waive his immunity will be submitted. “I can assure Polish citizens that there are no sacred cows,” added the minister.

As Onet reminds, judge Jakub Izaniec was on a delegation to the Ministry of Justice in 2018 and 2019, and became the right hand of the then deputy minister of justice Łukasz Piebiak. “Both were allegedly deeply involved in the slander of judges who were not on good terms with the then PiS government. For this purpose, they were to use sensitive data of these judges, which were in the possession of the ministry” – we read in an article by Onet journalists.
According to Onet's findings, judge Izaniec was also – together with Łukasz Piebiak – using the services of the then internet hater Mała Emi. The woman – even though she was not employed at the ministry – received sensitive data of judges from Izaniec and Piebiak so that she could slander them online. The prosecutor's office wanted to bring charges against Judge Iwaniaca in the so-called hate scandal, but the Supreme Court did not agree to waive the immunity.
