The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs Romanian citizens who are located, transit or intend to travel in Greece that on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, it is expected to trigger a national strike in this country, a context in which significant disturbances can be registered in the field of public road transport, railway and maritime.

Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends to the Romanian citizens to verify the operating schedule of the means of public transport, on October 14, 2025, on the official websites of the transport companies.

Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the phone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Athens: +30 2106728875; +30 2106728879 and of the Consulate General of Romania from Thessaloniki: +30 2310340088, the appeals being redirected to the Contact and Support Center of Romanian Citizens (CCSCRS) and taken over by Call Center operators.

At the same time, Romanian citizens who face a difficult, special situation, with an emergency character, can call on the permanent phone of the Romanian Embassy in Athens: +30 6978996222 and of the General Consulate of Romania: +30 6946049076.

MAE recommends consulting pages mae.ro (tips, travel alerts), Athena.mae.ro and salonic.mae.ro. Also, Romanian citizens traveling to Greece can access the “Maigreece” application of the Greek Ministry of Tourism, also available in Romanian.
