One of the oldest supermarkets in Bucharest, the former Billa store – and later Carrefour – from the Bucharest Drum Taberei neighborhood, escapes the initially planned demolition, to be occupied by the French retailer Auchan, with the second supermarket in the Capital, according to Profit.ro data.

At the end of 2023, Profit.ro announced that the businessman Alin Niculae, the owner of the largest independent diesel district in Romania, prepares the demolition of the former Carrefour Market supermarket in the Drum Taberei neighborhood, an open shop about 15 years ago under the brand Billa, and plans in its place a residential ensemble with over 400 apartments.
