Nutrition specialist Alla Shuklina from Krasnoyarsk explained how to support the body during the transition period. She shared her advice with Gornovosti.ru.

According to the specialist, four key food groups should be included in the diet: proteins (eggs, fish, cottage cheese) to stabilize mood, vegetables (carrots, pumpkin) to support immunity, cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal) for energy and healthy fats (nuts, avocados, vegetable oils). As an alternative to desserts, she suggests cocoa with plant milk or baked apples with cinnamon.

“Sweets give a short burst of serotonin, but after half an hour you are drawn to cookies again. To break this cycle, it is important to maintain a stable sugar level – do not skip breakfast, add healthy fats,” explains the specialist.

Shuklina advises paying special attention to vitamins D and C, deficiencies of which arise due to stress. Their best sources are sauerkraut, bell pepper, sea buckthorn and beef liver. To strengthen the nervous system, foods with magnesium are recommended: turkey, walnuts and cocoa.

Regular meals, warm natural foods and sufficient fluid intake in the form of herbal teas and pureed soups will help the body adapt to seasonal changes.
