The microwave is a lifesaver in the kitchen, but heating up soups, sauces, or popcorn leaves splatters, grease, and the smell of “yesterday’s food” inside. The longer you put off cleaning, the more difficult it is to remove dried stains. And chemical sprays leave an odor that is then absorbed into the food.
But you don’t need to scrub the walls with a sponge or buy special wipes. You will need baking soda and vinegar.
You will need:
Baking soda – 2 tablespoons
Vinegar 9% – 2 tablespoons
Glass of water – 200 ml
How to do:
- Pour water into a deep bowl, add vinegar and soda.
- Place the bowl in the microwave and turn on full power for 5 minutes.
- Do not open the door immediately, let the steam continue for 5-10 minutes. Hot steam will soften all plaque.
- Take out the bowl and simply wipe the sides with a soft cloth.
The baking soda will gently polish the surfaces, the vinegar will remove grease and odors, and the steam will do all the “hard” work for you.
Now, even after greasy borscht, the microwave will remain clean, and cleaning will take no more than 15 minutes.
