Mold only grows in humid conditions, so it often becomes a problem in winter when warm indoor air comes into contact with the cold glass surface. If condensation is not taken care of, dampness will form in the room, creating conditions for the spread of mold spores.
In a comment to the publication, expert from Supply Only Doors Simon Crowe declassified the best way to clean windows from condensation and mold. According to the expert, this will require only two natural ingredients that are found in almost every kitchen – lemon juice and baking soda.
Crow noted that citric acid can destroy mold, and baking soda is one of the best condensation removers because it quickly absorbs moisture, preventing any possibility of damp buildup.
How to prepare the mixture
- Mix 130 ml lemon juice with 45 g baking soda to form a thick paste.
- Apply the mixture to any moldy areas in the house.
- Leave the paste to dry. This may take up to 30 minutes. Once the paste has dried, remove it with a damp sponge, periodically dipping it into a bucket of warm water and detergent.
- Wipe the windows thoroughly with a clean cloth and ensure the room is well ventilated to prevent further moisture build-up.
Prevention
Regularly wipe damp areas with a dry cloth to prevent mold from forming due to moisture accumulation.
