Emma Rotaru, 21 years old, has been working in accounting for two years and believes she has made the best professional decision. “It is a safe, future, well -paid and stable area. You do not have to interact with a lot of physical people, which consumes your energy.”explains the young woman, for observernews.ro.
Employers have adapted employment policies to attract more young people into these trades, but generation Z claims remain high. “Quick results, higher revenues in a short term. The job should be taught to the new generation. Probably digitization attracts them even more”, says Veronica Molner, chief accountant.
The data confirms this trend: the salaries in accounting and logistics are increasing, and the number of young people applying for administrative positions is expanding. In Romania, a young accountant earns between 4,600 and 5,000 gross lei per month, those with 4-5 years experience reach 6,500–12,000 lei, and an accounting director can exceed 25,000 lei.
Human resources specialists explain that the attractiveness of these trades also comes from the digital component: “Artificial intelligence and digitalization help young people to access jobs such as accounting or logistics, facilitating the basis of calculation and administrative activities.”
The trade unionist Horațiu Raicu points out that young people are willing to accept average income at first, as long as there are clear growth prospects. “Rediscover the value of the trades considered boring, but fundamental for the functioning of modern society ”, he said.
Statistics show that one in five young people between the ages of 15 and 29 did not attend school courses and did not work last year, which makes these professions an important opportunity for their integration into the labor market.
