Friday's session brought only cosmetic changes to the main WSE indices. Investors quickly realized profits on the shares of Asseco and CD Projekt. European stock exchanges also finished just below the mark. The day on Wall Street also started with declines.

It was not a session that would go down particularly well in the annals of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. WIG20 lost a symbolic 0.04%, ending the week at 2,873.04 points. WIG gave back 0.06% with a turnover of PLN 1.75 billion.

– WIG20 is trying to leave the consolidation framework, in the range of 2,770-2,870 points, there is an attempt to break out of this range on top. A slight cooling of moods is certainly visible. We have political issues, i.e. tension related to the events in France, and in the United States we have a shutdown of the American administration and there is no particular pressure to resolve this situation – Konrad Ryczko, broker and analyst at DM BOŚ, told PAP Biznes.
Among the blue chips, the red light turned out to be the shares of CD Projekt, which were reduced by 5.5% without any new information on the ESPI channel. It is worth remembering that the price of CD Projekt has increased by almost 60% since the beginning of the year, so today's declines can be treated as profit-taking. However, the prices of Budimex, PKO BP and PGE increased by over 1%.
Shareholders of Asseco Poland also quickly realized profits, which brought the price of the IT company to the so-called lower limits (i.e. balancing the market after a 10% decline). Ultimately, Asseco's shares were depreciated by almost 5%. This is the fifth consecutive session of decline for this stock – Asseco Poland lost 13.5% in four sessions. Earlier, however, the company's share price was rising significantly. From September 30 to October 3, the shares of the Rzeszów company increased in price by approximately 24%.
The declining price of Asseco was the biggest burden for the mWIG40 index. The latter ended the day with a decline of 0.12%. sWIG80 recorded an increase of a symbolic 0.01%. It is worth adding that on the broad market there were almost as many falling stocks as rising ones. There was also a similar number of companies setting at least annual minimums and maximums.
The main European indices also ended the day on a down note, although the scale of declines did not exceed 0.5%. The mood on Wall Street also deteriorated, where Friday's session began with a decline in the Nasdaq by over 1%, and the S&P500 lost 0.85%.
– There seems to be quite a lot going on, but it seems that the markets are in decline. There is a problem with macroeconomic data because government agencies in the United States are closed and the calendar is quite empty. The market is trying to play on the scraps of non-government publications, but these are not publications of the same caliber as, for example, employment. What the market gets, that's what it takes – added Konrad Ryczko.
