At Wednesday's meeting, the Council of Ministers adopted a project that is to enable the Prime Minister – as indicated by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister – “to shape the composition of the government in a way that will limit the number of cabinet members.” This includes: o regulating the issue of persons responsible for equality and seniority policy.

The draft bills adopted by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday also included draft changes to some acts related to the functioning of government administration, prepared by the Minister of Supervision over the Implementation of Government Policy, Maciej Berek.
The statement after the government meeting emphasized that “the project allows the Prime Minister to shape the composition of the government in a way that will limit the number of cabinet members.” “This applies to areas of activity such as senior policy and implementation of the principle of equal treatment.”
The planned regulations expand the catalog of entities that will be able to perform tasks related to the principle of equal treatment in government administration. The body for equal treatment may be a member of the Council of Ministers, a secretary of state, an undersecretary of state or the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment. The function of the Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment may be performed by the Secretary of State or Undersecretary of State.
Such a representative may be appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister and will also report directly to him. The plenipotentiary will also be able to submit draft government documents for consideration by the Council of Ministers.
In turn, matters related to broadly understood senior policy are proposed to be entrusted to the Government Plenipotentiary for Senior Policy – or if he is not appointed – to the minister responsible for social security.
The draft regulations also concern, according to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the issue of access to information about the law and the course of the government legislative process, in an orderly and comprehensive manner.” “The new regulations will clearly define the task of the Government Legislation Center related to providing access to information about the law and the course of the government legislative process. The aim of the project is to provide this access to all addressees of legal norms in an orderly and comprehensive manner, using solutions IT” – it was indicated.
As indicated by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the proposed provisions, after the adoption of the Act, would enter into force 14 days after its publication in the Journal of Laws. (PAP)
