Not gas. Police named the cause of the explosion in Kyiv, which killed a man

An explosion in a high-rise building occurred on the evening of October 8. The incident was reported to police at around 6:30 p.m.

The public wrote that the gas could have exploded.

“It was established that the explosion killed a 41-year-old man and injured his 65-year-old father, the owner of the house,” the police said. “According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred as a result of the detonation of an unknown explosive device.”

Law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – premeditated murder and illegal handling of weapons and ammunition.
