Devastating attack with Russian drones in sum: three were killed, two injured

Three people were killed and two injured following a Russian drone attack in the Sumî region, northern Ukraine. One man was killed in Mîkolaivka, another in Velikopisarivska and the other in Bilopilska.

“Russia attacks the communities in the region with dozens of drones and guided air bombs ”, said the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleg Grigorov, on Wednesday, October 8th.
A 46 -year -old man was killed in Mîkolaivka, 65 -year -old in Velikopisarivska and a 66 -year -old in Bilopilska, according to this source.
The latest attack in the region took place in early week, when Russia hit a medical unit, in which 166 people were, of which 11 children.
“The enemy aimed with a drone a building of a medical institution in the Kovpakivka district,” Grigorov said. All people were in the shelter at the time of the attack.
According to preliminary information, there were no victims. The attack was performed by a Kamikaze drone “Itasmas” (or “Geranium-3”).
Russia has launched an offensive in the SUM region after, in April, it managed to reject the Ukrainian forces in the Russian region Kursk, which they partially occupied in the summer of 2024, writes News.ro.
On the Russian side, an attack with Ukrainian drones caused fires “in oil and energy installations” located in the Volgograd region, Governor Andrei Bocharov announced on Thursday.
The Russian army, which launched a large offensive against Ukraine in 2022, has accelerated its advance in recent months in the east of the country, in front of a less numerous and less well-equipped opponent, without making strategic progress.
The Kremlin forces occupy a total of about 20% of the Ukrainian territory.
