controversy surrounding Donald Tusk's entry

“According to Donald Tusk, blowing up the gas pipeline is acceptable,” wrote Peter Szijjarto in a post on the X social media platform.
“Toh shocking because it makes you wonder what else could be blown up and still be considered forgivable or even praiseworthy. One thing is certain: we do not want a Europe where prime ministers defend terrorists“- emphasizes the head of Hungarian diplomacy.
Donald Tusk's entry causes controversy
It all started with Donald Tusk's Tuesday entry, in which he stated that “the problem with Nord Stream 2 was not blowing it up, but building it“.
Polish Prime Minister thus referred to the issue of the gas pipeline, which from the very beginning aroused controversy in Central and Eastern Europe, being a project that made the region dependent on Russian gas.
Polish Prime Minister also touched on the case of Volodymyr Z., a Ukrainian citizen detained in Poland under a European arrest warrant. The man is suspected of participating in the blowing up of Nord Stream 2. During a press conference with Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene, Tusk emphasized that Poland should act in accordance with its own interests and the principles of justice.

“It is certainly not in the interest of Poland and the common sense of decency and justice to accuse or hand over this citizen to another country.“- he noted.
Detention of Volodymyr Zh. and investigation
Volodymyr Ż., a 49-year-old citizen of Ukraine, was detained on September 30 at his place of residence in Poland. He is suspected of constitutional sabotage, destruction of property and destruction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. An arrest warrant was issued by the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe. Currently, the man is in pre-trial detention in Warsaw, and his detention has been extended until November 9.
The detainee himself denies having any connection with the attack on the gas pipeline. He claims that he was in Ukraine at the time of the incident that took place on September 26, 2022. Let us recall that the destruction of three of the four lines of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 was caused by explosions, which caused international tensions and accusations of sabotage.
