On Monday, the Nobel Prize for Medicine was given to researchers Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi for an important discovery related to T cells, the “safety guards” of the immune system.

On Tuesday, the Nobel Prize for Physics was awarded to researchers John Clarke, Michel Devoret and John Martinis for important discoveries in quantum physics

These will be followed by the announcement of the other prizes as follows:

• Nobel Prize for Literature – Thursday, October 9, at the earliest at 1:00 pm (14.00 Romanian time);
• Nobel Peace Prize – Friday, October 10, 11:00 am (12.00 Romanian time);
• The prize in economic sciences in the memory of Alfred Nobel – Monday, October 13, at the earliest at 11:45 (12.45 Romania time).
