UEFA is preparing to revolutionize the transmission of European competitions since 2027, and streaming giants, such as Netflix, Amazon, or Disney+, could purchase exclusive global rights for a stage match.

UEFA is preparing a revolution in how fans around the world will be able to follow European competitions. According to Press Association, quoted by Abola.PT, the forum governing European football will propose, at the next tender for TV rights for cycle 2027-2033, a new overall choice option, with streaming giants such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon or DAZN, pay attention to the opportunity.

This novelty would allow one of these platforms to transmit, exclusively and worldwide, a match per stage in European competitions, thus strengthening the commitment to digitizing European football and for the global extension of the tournament.

Sources close to the process indicate that UEFA and European clubs hope to get about 5 billion euros per season from TV and commercial revenues, a significant increase compared to the 4 billion pounds in the current cycle.

The official launch of the auction is scheduled for October 13, through UC3, an entity created between UEFA and European Football Clubs (EFC).

During the General Assembly of EFC, conducted on Wednesday, the president of UEFA, Aleksander Ceferă, stressed the potential of the new model to continue to stimulate the growth of European football.
