Within 20 hours, starting on Tuesday morning, as a result of heavy rainfall in Bucharest, over 96% of the average amount of precipitation for October, and the maximum flow that transit the sewerage system is comparable to that of the Prut, according to Apa Nova.
“Between 07/10/2025 07:00-08/10/2025 03:25 (20:25 hours) a rainwater was registered, which downloaded on the surface of Bucharest a total quantity of 42.77 l/m2. “The pluvial event had a uniform distribution on the surface of Bucharest, and the quantities of fallen rainfall led to the transition of a maximum flow through the sewerage system of ~ 112 m3/s, which can be compared to the multiannual average flow of the Prut river (110 mc/s), and a volume transit from over 4.9 million Morii ”, said Apa Nova.
Almost 350 notifications received from customers and authorities were resolved until the first hours of the morning of October 8 by the intervention teams of Apa Nova.
