Prime Minister Kosovo: Serbia interferes with our choices more than Russia

“The interference of other countries is a form of violating democracy and sovereignty. Still, Serbia has not suffered any consequences on the part of the EU, so it does not change its behavior. What Serbia is currently doing is even more serious than Russia's interference in Europe,” said Kurti, the Provisional Prime Minister of Kosovo. Kurti still holds the office of the head of the government in connection with the lack of agreement in the Kosovo Parliament regarding the selection of the new majority after the February parliamentary elections.
The politician added that the recent actions of President Serbia Aleksandar Vuczic and other Serbian officials “cannot be characterized differently than as an interference in the election trial in Kosovo” before Sunday local elections.
“Promises regarding jobs, attracting voters with financial support and blackmailing social benefits, as well as statements of Serbian state officials that only the Serbian list (the party of Kosowski Serbs – PAP) protects Serbs in Kosovo, constitute repetitive methods of interference in internal affairs of Kosovo,” said Kurti.
At the same time, he appealed to the European Union for condemning the authorities in Belgrade and imposing sanctions on Serbia.
On Sunday, President Vuczić announced a plan to open 400 new jobs in the healthcare sector in Kosovo. “This is a huge matter for Kosovo and we will do it over the next ten days, so that people know that we will always take care of them,” said Pink on TV.
Hospitals mostly Serbian centers in the north of Kosovo still operate in the Serbian system. Kosovo – former province of Serbia – announced independence in 2008. Belgrade does not recognize her to this day.
Petković, who was responsible for Kosovia in the government of Serbia, appealed to the Serbian community in Kosovo on Tuesday, as well as to displaced persons with Kosovo documents, for voting for the Serbian list supported by Belgrade.
He pointed out that the victory of this party means continuing to infrastructure projects and financial assistance from the Serbian State, emphasizing that the Serbian list has the full support of President Vuczic and the Serbian state.
Earlier, Kosovo's office announced that “from autumn another 5,000 Serbs in Kosovo will receive 20,000 dinars (about 180 euros) per month as part of the Serbian state”.
