Athletes and runners from Krasnoyarsk will cover a distance of 21 kilometers

On October 11, the traditional autumn track and field race “Yenisei-Father” will take place on the Central Embankment in Krasnoyarsk. This was reported to the mayor's office.

Athletes and runners will cover one of the distances to choose from: 5 or 21.1 km. At 10:00 the participants of the 5-kilometer distance will start. 450 Krasnoyarsk residents over 12 years old will have to cover a given distance in one hour. At 10:45 a.m. the grand opening of the sports festival will take place, as well as the award ceremony for winners and runners-up.

At 11:00 the half marathon distance of 21.1 km will start. It is expected that 350 people will take part. They have to run 4 laps along the embankment in 3 hours. The race will be held in eight age categories among Krasnoyarsk residents 18 years and older.

Before each start, according to tradition, there will be a warm-up. This will be a small set of exercises to warm up muscles and joints from professional athletes.

“Such events are no longer just races. This is a real holiday of like-minded people who find new friends in a large circle. It will also be interesting for the audience, because a cover band with popular Russian hits is scheduled to perform, you can sing along and root for the participants,” said Alexander Kaminsky, head of the main department for physical culture, sports and tourism.​

Event program:

October 10:

  • 10:00 – 20:00 – preliminary delivery of starter packs at the Triatleta store (7g Mira Ave., entrance from Karatanova St.).

October 11:

  • 09:00 −10:45 — issuance of starting numbers at the start site;
  • 10:00 – start of the 5 km;
  • 10:45 — grand opening, awarding of winners and runners-up for 5 km;
  • 11:00 – start of the 21.1 km half marathon;
  • 14:00 – closing of the half marathon route, awarding of winners and runners-up, closing ceremony.

The winners and runners-up separately among men and women will be awarded medals, certificates, gift certificates to a sports store, as well as gifts from holiday partners.
