US President Donald Trump said he would like to know what Ukraine intends to do with the UShawk rockets, before accepting the Washington administration to provide Kiev, as it does not want to escalate Russia against Ukraine, writes Reuters on Tuesday.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski asked the US to sell Tomahawk rockets to the European countries, which will then send them to Ukraine.

Tomahawk rockets have a range of 2,500 kilometers (1,550 miles), which would put Moscow in the area of Ukraine's arsenal, if Kiev would receive these weapons.

On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Washington would provide Ukraine's Tomahawk missiles for long -distance strokes, then this would lead to Moscow's relationship with Washington.

Asked on Monday by reporters at the White House if he decided to provide Ukraine's Tomahawk missiles, Trump did not exclude this possibility and said he “made a kind of decision” in this regard.

“I think I want to find out what they will do with them,” said the American leader. “Where will they send them? I think I will have to ask this question,” added the Republican President.

“I would ask a few questions. I do not intend to climb this war,” Trump said.
