A new category has appeared in the Media Expert online store – “Supermarket”. As the website WiadomościHandlowe.pl explains, customers can find food products and everyday items there. Thus, customers can choose from a number of types of coffee, tea, carbonation cartridges, plant drinks, syrups, sugar substitutes, health-promoting products, snacks and healthy sweets.
This is a step towards creating a marketplace that will compete with the largest e-commerce platforms in Poland. The introduction of this category is also a response to the growing demand for online shopping, which accelerated during the pandemic.
In addition to the washing machine, sweets and tea. Media Expert introduces food products
As the website WiadomościHandlowe.pl notes, expanding the offer to include food products is not only an attempt to increase revenues, but also a change in the perception of the brand. So far, the web has been associated mainly with electronics. The desire to attract customers with everyday shopping may influence the strategies of other market players, especially in the context of the growing popularity of online shopping.

Although Media Expert does not yet have the scale of Biedronka or Lidl, entering the food market may be the beginning of bigger changes. Marketplaces such as Amazon and Allegro already offer food products, and Media Expert may become the next player in this category. However, the key will be whether the chain manages to convince customers to do their daily shopping there.
As WiadomościHandlowe.pl points out, Media Expert's move is good news for consumers, because greater competition means a wider selection and potentially lower prices. If Media Expert manages to offer attractive promotions and convenient delivery, it may become a real alternative to traditional grocery chains.
