Authorities recommend that animals be released from chains or paddocks, so that they have higher chances of survival. The owners of farm animals are advised to identify higher places where they can be temporarily moved. Also, for pets it is advisable to prepare an emergency kit with food, water, medicines and identification acts.
ISU warns that when the evacuation is not possible, the release of animals remains the only protection solution. Citizens are urged to comply with these measures to prevent losses and accidents caused by extreme weather phenomena.
