Against the background of warning the red code of heavy rainfall, the County Committee for Emergency Situations Ialomița decided to suspend all the courses in the educational units for October 8, the measure being meant to protect the students and the teaching staff.

The decision of CJSU Ialomița comes in the context of a dangerous meteorological phenomenon, valid from Tuesday, October 7, at 9:00 pm, until Wednesday, October 8, at 23:00. Authorities have taken several preventive measures to manage the effects of heavy rains and strong wind.
Thus, the County Center for the management and coordination of the intervention (CJCCI) was activated at the headquarters of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations “Barbu Catargiu”, together with the Operational Group of ISU Ialomița, during the entire period of the Red Code.
In all the town halls, permanence will be ensured, and if necessary, local committees for emergencies will be convened. The streams, ditches and watercourses will be checked, and the possible blockages will be removed to prevent floods. At the same time, the authorities will monitor the vulnerable – the elderly, people with disabilities, pregnant women or chronic sick.
The means and equipment necessary for fast interventions-the release of fallen trees, evacuation of accumulated water and remedying problems on utility networks-are prepared, and the population will be informed by red-allert messages, depending on the evolution of the weather situation.
“The measure of suspending the courses aims to protect the students and the teaching staff”, specifies CJSU Ialomița.
The authorities in Constanța county made a similar decision, the closing of schools, kindergartens and nurseries for October 8, as a result of the same red rain code.
