According to Polsat News, a spokesman for the Bielsko City Headquarters on Monday. Sławomir Kocur said that before the District Court in Bielsko-Biała (Śląskie Voivodeship) a settlement was concluded regarding intervention, during which one of the participants of the incident recorded a policeman without his consent. Then he published a film on social media.
The person who filmed the intervention must pay a financial penalty and also send a letter with an apology.
“The person who published the recording undertook to pay a compensation to the policeman in the amount of PLN 3,000. He is also to transfer PLN 2,000 to the Foundation to support police employees and their families Blue Line Brotherhood. In addition, he must send an officer a registered letter with apologies” – he told the podkom. Sławomir Kocur.
The spokesman reminded that a policeman performing his duties does not lose his right to protect his image. “Any recordings from intervention, if needed, may constitute evidence in court proceedings, but they cannot be published on the Internet or in social media. Its publication without the consent of the officer is a violation of personal rights” – he explained.
