“Rebuild and open Alcatraz!” – Trump wrote in the entry on the Truth Social portal.
“For too long, America was harassed by cruel, brutal criminals and recidivists, outcasts of society who would never contribute to anything but misery and suffering. When we were a more serious nation, in the past, we did not hesitate to close the most dangerous criminals and keep them away from everyone they could hurt. This is how it should be ” – he added.

Trump announced that he had ordered the prison service, the FBI and the ministries of justice and national security “Open” significantly enlarged and rebuilt alcatraz “to place” the most ruthless and brutal criminals “there”.

It is not clear how much in practice it is possible to fulfill the request of Trump, but the prison office announced that he intends to follow all the president's instructions. The president himself later told journalists that it was “just an idea he came up” under the influence of resistance put by the judges blocking his attempts to mass deportation.
