55-year-old man, fatally hit by a train between Ocna Sibiului and Mândra. Railway traffic, temporarily stopped
A 55-year-old man was hit by a train, Tuesday evening, between Ocna Sibiului and Mândra, Sibiu county. Following the accident, train traffic was stopped on highway 208, announced the Sibiu County Police Inspectorate (IPJ).

The accident was reported around 18:30. The Sibiu Transport Police County Office was notified that a person was hit by a train, outside Ocna Sibiului. The first checks carried out on the spot showed that the incident occurred at kilometer CFR 409+400, on highway 208, between Ocna Sibiului and Mândra.
“Passenger train no. 2567, which was traveling on the Sibiu-Sighişoara route, fatally injured a male person. The railway traffic is interrupted in order to carry out the on-site investigation”. stated IPJ Sibiu.
“Two SMURD crews were mobilized to the scene, one of which was with a doctor. Unfortunately, the approximately 55-year-old man has injuries incompatible with life, and the doctor present had to declare death”, the representatives of ISU Sibiu sent.
Due to the investigations carried out on site, rail traffic was temporarily interrupted in the area.
The police are continuing the investigations in the framework of a criminal case opened for manslaughter, going to establish the exact circumstances in which the tragedy occurred.
