American general: Ukraine can win a war with Russia

I think that Ukraine can win a war with Russia – said General Alexus Grynkewich on Tuesday, appointed the new commander of the US and NATO forces in Europe. “Ukrainians are doing great,” said the general during hearing in the Senate.

Grynkewich pointed out that thanks to the Ukrainian defense, the Russians make only gradual progress at a huge cost. “We should still support them (Ukrainians), because it allows them for such excellent results,” he added.

“I think that Ukraine can win. When your homeland is in danger, you fight with such perseverance that it is difficult for us to understand if we are not in such a situation,” said the general during hearing in the Senate.

At the beginning of June, the head of the Pentagon Pete HegeSth announced the appointment of Grynkewich Air Force general as the head of the European US command (EUCOM) and at the same time as the main commander of the allied in Europe (Saceur).

Grynkewich is to replace the current US and NATO commander of General Christopher Cavolego, who has been held this function since July 2022. Before he took the new command, Grynkewich must obtain the consent of the Senate.

The nomination ends earlier speculation that the administration of Donald Trump may give up the current tradition, so that the EUCOM commander is also the commander of NATO forces in Europe. The congressmen of both parties expressed strong opposition to the departure from this solution.
