The first waves of autumn frosts are rolling through Poland. For drivers, this means morning glass scraping. It is also the last bell for people who have not yet bought coal for the winter. Although the number of households that use renewable energy sources for heating, about 3.5 million houses in Poland are heated with coal, and the estimated annual demand is about 6 million tons.
We checked how much a ton of coal currently costs and how long you have to wait for delivery.
– We offer Polish coal and Kazakhstan. The first one costs 2,000 PLN for a ton and the second 1.6 thousand zloty. The difference is due to caloric content. The national one has over 28 MJ per kg, and a foreign 26 MJ per kg – I hear from the commercial representative of the composition in Szczecin.
When I ask about availability and date, I find out that the order can be even on Monday.
The case looks a bit cheaper in Pomerania. – We bring coal from Kazakhstan. The price for a ton of ordinary peanut is 1.4 thousand. PLN with delivery for a symbolic zloty in the area. Transport would be possible on Friday or Saturday. If you want a parcel, you need a week and a half – I hear from the seller.

Traders advertise a country of coal origin
Some traders are advertised with a place of coal mining. – We have coal under the roof, not in the naked square. Anyway, we import it from the Polish mine, not from any East, which is why the price for a ton is 1.5 thousand. PLN – says my interlocutor.
Slightly higher prices are in Lower Silesia. There, the compositions for the ton of the cheapest coal want 1.7-1.9 thousand. zloty. – Lord, what eastern coal? Everything from the national mines with us. We have a quality certificate for this. Depending on the distance, the price for transport starts from PLN 20. If you order today, we will come on Wednesday – convinces me the seller.
With the purchase and transport of coal home, there are no problems in Bialystok. There, peanut carbon prices range from 1.4 to 1.6 thousand. PLN per ton.
– We have domestic and foreign coal. It is known that foreign is cheaper, but less caloric, so it needs more. It all depends on the wealth of the wallet. If you place an order today, we will bring the goods on Monday – my interlocutor tells me.

Coal price on global stock exchanges
In connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the so -called Ara ports, i.e. the port water quays in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp. On the stock exchanges, the coal supplied there is sold at a price of approx. $ 92. for a ton (almost PLN 380).
