The Chinese manufacturer of Zeekr electric cars extends its presence in Southeast Europe, and will enter the markets in Romania, Slovenia, Croatia and Bulgaria. In the summer of this year, however, he was involved in great controversy, as Reuters wrote that she was accused of artificially “swollen” sales through an insurance scheme.
The subsidiary of the Geely group has concluded a partnership with Seeag, an experienced importer in the region, for the distribution and service of the models 001, x and 7x. Zeekr will start with a showroom in Ljubljana, and other cities will be added later, according to electrive.com.

Zeekr continues its expansion in Europe and will reach Romania. So far, the premium brand of the Chinese group has mainly focused on Central Europe and Scandinavian countries.
The models were available in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
Now Zeekr will move his attention to markets in Southeast Europe. The company is already selling electric cars in Greece from the beginning of summer.
From now on, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia and Bulgaria are added to the list of countries. It is expected that the controls will start in October, and the first vehicles would be delivered by the end of the year.
Zeekr was recently involved in a great controversy
In the summer of this year, Chinese brands of Neta and Zeekr electric cars have been accused of resorting to sales data handling practices, according to documents obtained by Reuters.
Companies would have concluded insurance policies on behalf of new cars before they were actually sold, to falsely report deliveries and to fulfill their commercial targets on the Moon or quarter.
The data showed that in December 2024 Zeekr reported 2,737 sales in Xiamen, a locality in China, 14 times above the monthly average, although only 271 vehicles were actually registered.
