Salvamont intervenes in the Bucegi and Parang Mountains: tourists stuck in snow and cars caught by blizzard
Two tourists were stuck in the snow in the Bucegi Mountains, and five people encountered similar problems in Parang, in the context of weather warnings and the consistent snow layer. The mountain rescuers intervene to bring them safely to the base of the mountain.

In the Bucegi Mountains, the snow layer exceeds 50 centimeters, and two tourists lost the route in the Poiana Prepeleac area. The Salvamont Râșnov team reached the victims, which show signs of hypothermia and were not properly equipped, with only a front lantern at the departure, at 11:00 in Bușteni.
“The rescue action is difficult due to the weather and unstable soil conditions, and at the top of the mountain there are trees lowered by the weight of the snow”, Salvamont Brașov said in a Facebook post.
Similar situations were also recorded in Parang, where five people were stuck with cars in the snow. Two of these were caught in the new chairlift area, and later the rescuers came across three people, surprised by the weather conditions.
“The gendarmes helped them remove the cars and continue to travel safely”, the Hunedoara County Gendarmes Inspectorate announced.
Meteorologists warn that although the weather will temporarily soften towards the end of the week, heavy rains and snowfall continue to affect the whole country, with a red code for rains and floods in the south and snow warnings.
