Zelanski: 185 defenders and 20 civilian Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity

On Thursday, the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Złeski announced the release of 185 Ukrainian soldiers and 20 civilians from Russian captivity. The coordination staff for prisoners of war in Kiev informed that some prisoners were listed in accordance with the agreements in Istanbul, and some – as part of 69 exchange.

“We bring home 185 of our defenders from Russian captivity. One hundred and eighty -three are sergeants and sergeants, two – officers. Soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Border Service. 20 of our civilians are returning with the defenders. The head of the Ukrainian state thanked everyone who enables the exchange of prisoners. The president said that from the beginning of the full -glass invasion of February 24, 2022, over 7,000 Ukrainians were returned to the country. “We have to bring everyone. We are working on it every day,” he added.

The coordination staff for prisoners of war in Kiev noticed that released soldiers defended Ukraine in the following directions: Lugansk, Donecki, Kharkiv, Zaporoskie, Cherry, Kiev, Sumsky and Czernihowski.

“Among the ones released today, Mariupol's defenders are again. Soldiers of the National Guard also return to their homes, who were taken prisoner during the protection of the atomic power plant in Chernobyl. The youngest of the released defenders is 26 years old. The oldest – 59 years. Virtually all soldiers and civilians have been freed today from 2022” – we read in a message. “

The coordination staff added that people released from captivity will undergo full medical examinations, receive help in the field of physical and mental rehabilitation and all the benefits provided by the state.
