On Thursday, the first important snowfall this fall fell to the mountain. Where is the thickest layer of snow

October started with very low and bad weather, and Thursday morning there were temperatures below -5 degrees Celsius in the mountains and deposited a snow layer exceeding 10 cm.

ANM transmitted a bad weather, cold weather, significant rain, strong wind and snow in the mountains on Thursday morning, plus a series of alerts, valid in almost half the country.

The ANM data show that at 9 o'clock, the snow layer was 12 cm thick at the weather station VF Omu, 11 cm thick at Bâlea Lac and Ceahlău-Toaca and 10 cm in Călimani. At over 1,300 m alt, at Fundata, they were 4 cm thick, and at Penteleu and Iezer there were 3 cm of snow.

The weather will stay particularly cold for the beginning of October.

Thursday morning they were minimal below -5 degrees Celsius to over 2,000 m alt and nowhere in the country were more than 10 degrees Celsius, ANM data shows. He also gave frost at low altitudes and was very cold in places like Reșița (1.2 C) and Sfântu Gheorghe Delta (1.6 C).

ANM also gave a “yellow snow code”

Between October 2, at 10 – 3 October, at 23, in the east of the Southern Carpathians and in the Carpathians, at altitudes generally over 1500 m will temporarily snow (rags of 50… 70 km/h) and snow layer (10… 30 cm) will be deposited.
