On this fact, criminal proceedings were instituted under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles that entailed the death of the victim). The defendant can face three to eight years in prison, as well as deprivation of the right to drive vehicles.
