A resident of Lesosibirsk cut down the forest for 1.6 million rubles and escaped with a “convent”

The Yenisei District Court announced the sentence to a resident of Lesosibirsk, accused of illegal cutting of the forest. This was told in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The police found that the 36-year-old Lesosibirsk, engaged in forestry work, hired a crew of rollers. The man misled the experts and lied that he had permission to cut down trees. As a result, from November 2021 to March 2022, workers committed a number of illegal logging on the territory of the Yenisei district forestry.
“As a result, more than 800 cubic meters of pine trees were cut. The amount of damage amounted to 1.6 million rubles, ”the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

During the operational-search measures, the organizer of the illegal cut-off was found and detained. In relation to the man, they opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal cutting of forest stands.”
The court sentenced the Lesosibirsk a sentence of 1 year 6 months in prison with a probationary period of 2 years. A civil lawsuit was also issued for damages.
