Călin Georgescu, about the Attorney General of Romania: “With the devil you do not enter the conversations”

Calin Georgescu, a former candidate for the presidential elections of November last year, canceled by the RCC, avoided providing a clear answer if he would accuse the Attorney General of Romania, Alex Florence, after being sued by the General Prosecutor's Office, in the hypothetical case in which the head of state will arrive.

“I am interested in the Romanian people. So much. In general, I know that with the devil you do not enter the conversations. I have no conversation to have with this sting,” said Georgescu, in the show Marius Tuca Show, from Gândul.ro.

“I can tell you one thing, that, indeed, the file is copy-paste, it is the same resolution of a disease: the Russians or the cancer,” added the former presidential candidate.

“Everyone speaks: either they are Russians, or you have cancer. There is no other known … not that it is a great resemblance. It is a copy of indigo,” said Călin Georgescu, about the file instrumented by the General Prosecutor's Office.

The question came in the context of the “Trump model”, invoked by the moderators Marius Tucă and Ion Cristoiu, regarding the fact that the US president is accused of “making files” to prosecutors and former officials involved in his legal problems before returning to power, such as the former director of FBI, James Comy.

Former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu was sued, on September 16, for six crimes, the most serious being complicity in the attempt to commit actions against the constitutional order and the communication of false information.

In the same case, Horațiu Potra was sent to court, for a coup attempt, along with 20 other mercenaries in his group.

The Ministry of Justice announced, previously, during Monday, that Horațiu Potra, his son and a nephew of Potra were arrested in Dubai. The authorities are now discussing for the extradition in Romania of the three.

The Attorney General of Romania, Alex Florence, said last week that certain connection elements between Călin Georgescu and the mercenary Horaţiu Potra have appeared since the autumn of 2021, but they consolidated in April 2022, when Georgescu appealed to the leader of the mercenari group to support him. Alex Florence said that Horaţiu Potra traveled to Moscow in the fall of 2023 and September 2024.
