Rogobete: “For almost 10 days no one applied no protocol”
Minister Alexandru Rogobete said on Monday night that for many years he has not seen as much “chaos” and administrative irregularities as at the “Saint Maria” Hospital in Iași.
“I cannot speculate and say that this drama is directly caused by these infections associated with medical activity. They will be pronounced in forensic medicine. Unfortunately, these children had many other serious associated pathologies, other comorbidities. Drama, but we would certainly have avoided spreading infections to so many children, and these infections most likely accelerated this process that brought us to this drama in such a short time, ”the minister said in a B1 TV show.
“Bigger, procedural chaos, procedural that in this hospital I have not seen in this country. (…) For almost 10 days no one applied any protocol to reduce the extension of nosocomial infections in this hospital. I have no explanation …”, Rogobete said.
The Minister of Health insisted that not the medical staff in the ATI section was the problem, but the management of the hospital and the DSP, who “did not test the pathogen germs in time, did not notify in time the medical team that it was a outbreak there, that they did not create new medical circuits according to the protocol, which did not increase the concentrations for the 10 days, for 10 days, for 10 days.
“This is why I dismissed DSP leadership without talking to them. It's unacceptable what happened there,” Rogobete added.
