The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski asked the US President Donald Trump at Tuesday's meeting for Tomahawk missiles – Axios said on Friday. Ukrainians could use this weapon to attack goals in Russia at a distance of Moscow.

On Wednesday, Zelanski told Axios that he asked Trump for an additional weapon that could force Vladimir Putin to join peaceful conversations. He did not reveal what kind of weaponing the American president asked for.
Zielnski, asked by Axios about what one thing Trump could do to help Ukraine win the war, he replied: – I think President Trump knows. I told him what we need one thing yesterday.
– By the way, we need it, but this does not mean that we will use it. Because if we have it, I think it will be an additional emphasis on Putin to sit down (at the table) and talk – said Zelanski.
A representative of the Ukrainian authorities and other source familiar with the course of the meeting of Ukrainian and US leaders confirmed that it was about Tomahawk missiles. Earlier, the British “Telegraph” wrote about Zelanski's request.
Axios reminded that Ukrainians have raised the topic of Tomahawków several times in talks with the USA last year. It was the only type of weaponing from the list that Trump did not agree to the sale of NATO countries for Ukraine – the source donated.
Tomahawk precise missiles are about 1600 km, much larger than ATACMS missiles.
Zelanski told Axios that Ukrainians could hit the drones on the purposes of Russian territory, but many military goals have a complex air defense, which is difficult to break the unmanneders.
