The victim's body, Josef C., was discovered by police on August 15. On the spot, the people of the law found that death was not the result of an accident or old age: the victim showed obvious signs of violence, was linked and bloody. The door of the house had been forced, and the interior of the house was torn, a sign that the thieves had carefully searched for valuable goods.

“The gang chose their victims especially from the elderly. They offered them crafts at low prices, but after paying the advance they disappeared or used pressure and violence. In other cases, they went directly to breaking and attacking the people inside. In this case, they knew that the senior was at home and they went directly to the house“, Said Aleš Strach, the head of the Prague Department, according to Blesk.

The investigation demonstrated that two of the band members were the ones who actually committed the crime, while the rest of the group was involved in the planning and execution of other crimes. The band operates in several European states, having on consciousness dozens of robberies and acts of violence in the Czech Republic and even a break in Austria.

The operation of destroying the group was carried out with the support of the authorities in Romania and Hungary.

“Colleagues in Romania and Hungary gave us all the support and cooperation was excellent”, explained Strach.

Two of the suspects are accused of murder, risking between 15 and 20 years in prison or exceptional punishment, given the cruelty of the deed. The rest of the group is accused of robbery in an organized group, punished with up to 12 years in prison.

Investigators continue to determine exactly which goods have been stolen and do not exclude the possibility that the list of group offenses will grow in the next period.
