The Bucharest Court of Appeal admitted the prosecutors' proposal and approved the preventive arrest for 30 days of the 17 -year -old accused of sending messages to hundreds of schools and hospitals in Romania in which he will commit “a real massacre”.

“Admits the proposal for a preventive arrest made by the Prosecutor's Office next to the ICCJ – the Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Offenses. It orders the measure of preventive arrest for a period of 30 days,” the meeting is shown.

The measure is enforceable, so the young man will be arrested. Lawyers can attack with appeal.

The Romanian Police announced on Wednesday that in the last two days the young man has sent threatening messages to schools and hospitals in Bucharest and from 24 counties. The first messages were sent on Monday.

The young man is a student at the Bulgarian Theoretical High School “Hristo Botev” in Bucharest. He was erected by investigators on his way to school, Wednesday morning, and led to hearings at the IGPR. Subsequently, he was taken to Obregia Hospital for a psychological examination, and was then detained by prosecutors.

“I will enter school and go to the preparatory class,” “Psychically prepare for what is coming in the coming days”, “the armed attack I have prepared for this week will take place,” he wrote in the threat messages that the boy is suspected of sending in the last three days.

The young man was accused in the past by the FBI of similar facts, but in May 2025 the High Court of Cassation and Justice definitively rejected their request to extradite the young man in the US where he risked life imprisonment.
