Nicuşor Dan reveals how much money he received, from donations, for the election campaign

The general mayor of the capital, Nicuşor Dan, an independent candidate for presidential, announced on Wednesday evening, at Antena3, that he received several million lei as donations for the election campaign, and some businessmen donated amounts of hundreds of thousands of lei.
“Precampania cost 6 million lei, this means 1.2 million euros. I do not know how much they spent in pre-scam the candidates from 2025, but how much of the candidates from 2024, in November, it is at least four to five times. Antena 3, quoted by News.ro.
According to Nicușor Dan, the revenues from his election campaign were 3 million lei that came from almost 10,000 people.
Dan said that two businessmen donated the maximum amount that can be donated for the election campaign, of 810,000 lei, two other businessmen donated 500,000 lei and another businessman donated 250,000 lei.
Nicuşor Dan claimed that he had campaign donations in the elections for the Capital City Hall, stressing that he did not promise anyone in the account of these donations.
A week ago, Nicuşor Dan declared that he cannot make public the names of the people who donated for his campaign, without their acceptance. “There are businessmen who have absolutely fair businesses,” said the general mayor of the capital.
His statements came after the PSD asked him to present the names of those who donated them for the presidential campaign more than 40,500 lei.
“The PSD asks the candidate Nicușor Dan to present to the transparent who are the persons who donated for (pre) the campaign to amounts to 40,500 lei, respectively the equivalent of 10 minimum gross salaries in the country. According to his own statements are at least two natural persons who have exceeded this ceiling, and according to the law Nicușor Dan has the obligation to make them public,”
